Carlos Sáez's work covers various aspects of the dialogue between humans and technology. His interest in the human experience in the technological era has led him to explore topics such as the assimilation of new forms of virtuality (Dual-Mismo 2018), the empathy with machines (Hardware Fetish 2018) and extropian morphological freedom (2015). Carlos develops his works from concepts generally imbued with light, euphoria and speed, greatly influenced by his native environment, Valencia. Within their artistic corpus there are expressions such as video art, sculpture, interactive installations, audiovisual instruments and net.art, highlighting projects such as Cloaque.org (2012), an emblematic digital art platform, in which they have participated collaboratively digital artists from around the world. In 2014, his interest in the archeology of machines arose. Influenced by authors such as Jennifer Gabris, he began to collect abandoned technology from recent times to create sculptures and interactive installations made up of disused hardware. In this same period, he established an artistic symbiosis with Arca, collaborating in the creation of videos, installations and body pieces, in addition to assuming creative co-direction roles in numerous projects. Currently, he co-directs Pluto, a set of industrial warehouses converted into creation spaces for emerging artists in Valencia, where he also has his workshop. Pluto has established itself as one of the main spaces of the Valencian underground scene, hosting various cultural activities open to the public. In 2022, Carlos founded, through Pluto and together with his two partners, the "Espacial" scholarship for artists based in the same city, with the aim of promoting the local scene. Carlos Sáez has exhibited his work in renowned institutions such as the Whitney Museum of American Art (NY), the Museum of Modern Art (NY), the Museum of the Moving Image (NY), Untitled Art Fair (Miami), the National Portrait Gallery (London), The Armory (NY), The Shed (NY), MAMCO (Geneva), IVAM (Valencia), Transfer Gallery (NY), La Capella (Barcelona), MIRA (Barcelona), Linz FMR (Linz), ARCO (Madrid), La Térmica (Málaga) and Las Naves (Valencia), among others.
